A Case of Huge Pedunculated Hepatoma

Abstract
A 46-year old man with a huge abdominal mass which had grown for the past three months was admitted to the Seoul National University Hospital in February, 1964. The mass was round, firm, relatively movable, non-tender and of smooth but partially nodular surface. The size of the mass was man-head and occupied the whole upper quadrant of the abdomen and was suspected as an omental tumor.
It was found on operation that the mass was connected to the left lobe of the liver with a pedicle of liver tissue, being adherent to the omentum, which was completely removed from the liver.
The resected mass was 24 X 18 X 12cm in size and weighed 2300gm. Microscopic findings revealed a hepatocellular carcinoma mixed with a cholangiocellular carcinoma.

Fifteen months after surgery, the tumor recurred in the midabdomen, but until now up to nine-teen months following the resection of the secondary mass patient has been doing well.
